Overview

moma_leo_wall

In 2004 shortly after starting thehappycorp.  After working in 300-600 person companies, I and my business partner began to feel the need of a social environment around the company.  I had since graduating from college felt the need to connect with people outside my verticle industry.  I wanted to meet creative people in other fields, performance, architecture, photography, media, art, etc. So our team began to create events that would engage a diverse audience via themes of collaboration and competition with the goal of demystifying the creative practices of each profession.

lvhrd had become vehicle for experimentation for the staff of thehappycorp. We actively challenge the formulas for successful live events, while experimenting with mobile technology, invitation techniques, unique venues, and event formulas.  The lvhrd organization receives regular attention from the media, including the new york times, fast company, cnn, good magazine, surface, NPR, amongst others.

MASTDSTR Series

the master disaster series was spawned after viewing late night episodes of ‘IRON CHEF’ after late nights out.  The first of the series in 2004 was the first FSHN Duel.  Where two you fashion designers constructed dresses on live models in a downtown club. Since that event, the series has been expanded into many other professions including the most successful of the series ‘ARCHITECTS DUEL’ which has been seen around the world via our ‘VDO’ podcast series, and event emulated by an australia group calling it ‘ARCH IDOL’ connecting it with ‘American Idol”.

BiFold

After partnering with Design is Kinky in 2005, to produce Semi-PermanentNYC 2005, our team had the desire to continue to bring insights from creative people into public forums.  We created an interactive speaking series called Bifold. The aim of bifold was to connect different creative people against the same theme.  Bidold events were themed, with concepts like Analog, Wild Streets, Conflict, Youth and Sport.  The Bifold stage was shared by talented creatives like Paul Pope, Speto, GRL, Wally Green, The Tiny masters of Tomorrow, and the creators of VBS.tv.

Social Experiments

In 2006 lvhrd conducted it’s first social experiment at the MUSEUM of modern Art.  The goal of the experiment was to understand the relationship between the social behavior of New York’s 20 somethings and their addiction to dangerous mobile technology.  Brooklyn based Les Savy Fav performed to an audience without cellphones. It was an amazing evening.
