Dirt cheap. Making room for summer.

The day was September 21st, 2006.
The location was Emergency Arts, Chelsea, New York City, USA.
The occasion was the Good Magazine New York Launch Party, put on by Mack Industries.
Doug Jaeger and company had spent most of the night wandering through the many rooms and levels of the party.
Artists. Philanthropists. Celebrities. Al Gore.
You may have noticed our call to action, hoping that someone could help put us in touch with Mr. Gore so that we could bestow upon him Dooker’s USA No. 1 Polluter shirt.
When we spied Big Al at the party, and Doug just happened to be wearing said shirt… we knew it was time to show a little skin. Doug stripped off his shirt, right then and there, and presented it to Al.
Thanks to Doug’s willingness to get naked in public, a conversation about the shirt between Doug and Al ensued, and we were given Al’s mailing address.
Now we can send him a fresh one.
We love you Al.

Having lived in NYC for the past 10 years, I have been subject to Milton Glaser’s “I <3 NY” logo as an everyday occurrence. I see tourrists picking up the shirts for 4/$10. I compare this to our soldiers visiting IRAQ, and our contract soldiers re-visiting.
Latest design by Doug Jaeger.
American tourrorism of Iraq must stop. Freedom ? (>41,000 Iraqi deaths) + (>2,640 Coalition Deaths)

Johnny & I both worked at TBWA\Chiat\Day in New York during the attacks on the World Trade Center. We were at work early as we saw the attacks takes place on television. It was soon after the attacks, when we invaded IRAQ that we started the T-shirt company. I have always thought of brands being the results of interaction with a company or person, but somehow today find it interesting to play with the American Brand.
I stopped by the BMW dealer this past saturday with my girlfriend Kristin, where she bought her first motorcycle. It surprised me to see a Black K1200S with the World Trade Center Painted on the side with a giant American Flag. I began to imageine who would buy that bike? A victim of the tragedy? It was what gave me the idea to create the graphic above, A full 13 stripes and 50 stars. This event has cost us a lot, how much more will it have to cost before we recover.

The design talents of dooker.com have been tapped by a land far far away…
Doug was recently commissioned to design 3 new creations for the popular Japanese design shop Graniph.
If you can’t get yourself to Japan, then we’ve got some good news.
One of Doug’s designs is currently available for viewing and purchasing on Graniph’s website.

So you’ve all seen this movie, right?
Seriously. Two hours out of your life, that will most likely change the way you think, if not interact, with the world around you.
We’re pretty excited about this film. Informative and clearly presented, it’s an incredible force for raising awareness of our surroundings, both environmental and political.
We like Al, and we’d love to send one of our USA No.1 Polluter T-shirts his way. The shirt was designed by doug&johnny to reflect America’s
Brand in the context of it’s actions.
If you’ve got any ideas on how we can make this happen, let us know.
